Topic: Introducing presentations shall give an overview on the current situation in the different countries and in which way crossborder cooperation already works. Within the subsequent workshops the participants shall be discussing current problems and limitations of this cooperation and work on possible improvements. Eventually, the results of each workshop shall be presented to the whole auditory, leading into an open debate. The topic, which may be subject to slight changes according to the speakers we will be able to gather, has been chosen to highlight the increasing importance of this growing crossborder and borderless medium of the Internet and its growing legal questions. It is especially important for young jurists to recognise that these questions can not be answered in a satisfactory way solely by rules of domestic legal orders. We want to show where there are problems and limitations but also opportunities for better interstate cooperation. A key aspect of the knowledge imparted shall be to point out the significance of mutual courtesy and combined efforts across borders. ELSA Dresden hope to lower barriers and prejudices and to strengthen comprehension of other nations and cultures by getting together and engaging in joint learning. In particular, we are striving for an even closer cooperation of ELSA groups all over Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany through study visits, joint academic events, activities and exchange of experiences.

  • Thanks to the transnational orientation of the seminar and the joint planning with ELSA Czech and ELSA Poland, both ELSA Czech and ELSA Poland are going to seek appropriate speakers from their countries on the given topic. We are aspiring to find at least one speaker with a practical background as well as one speaker with an university background from each of the both countries. This way we want to ensure there will be a broad exchange of experiences and gain of knowledge by getting to know several perspectives.
